DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Svetlana Simak (LUHEP\, SPbSU)\nWe present a compari
son of Monte Carlo modified Glauber model predictions with recent measurem
ents of the centrality dependence of total charged-particle yields in ¹
⁶O+¹⁶O and ²⁰Ne+²⁰Ne collisions at the LHC. The model extends t
he Standard Glauber approach by introducing a single parameter\, k\, the m
ean fractional momentum loss per inelastic nucleon-nucleon collision due t
o multiparticle production\; this reduces the inelastic cross section and
multiplicity in subsequent nucleon collisions. The parameter k was fixed f
rom the previously successful description of the non-linear centrality dep
endence of charged-particle yields measured by ALICE in Pb+Pb collisions\,
and the resulting predictions are confronted here with the newly availabl
e data for the light collision systems.\n\nThe authors acknowledge Saint-P
