DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Taisiya Vasilyeva ()\nType IIP supernovae provide an
opportunity for independent estimation of cosmological distances\, making
them a valuable tool for constraining the Hubble constant and testing cos
mological models. \nOne of the methods for determining distances to Type I
I supernovae is the Expanding Photosphere Method (EPM)\, which does not re
quire calibration via the cosmic distance ladder. \nThe EPM is based on th
e geometric relationship between the angular size of the supernova photosp
here and its radius. The angular size of the photosphere is estimated from
photometric observations in different photometric bands\, while its radiu
s can be determined from the photospheric expansion velocity measured from
spectral lines. These quantities can then be used to estimate the distanc
e to the supernova. \n\nThis work presents a practical algorithm for apply
ing the EPM and the Standardized Candle Method (SCM) to photometric and sp
ectroscopic observational data obtained with a telescope at the Caucasus M
ountain Observatory of the Sternberg Astronomical Institute\, Lomonosov Mo
scow State University. \nFor supernova SN 2024ws\, distances obtained usin
g the two methods are estimated and comparatively analyzed.\nThe validity
of the physical assumptions underlying the EPM and SCM is investigated usi
ng numerical modeling type IIP supernovae.\n\nhttps://indico.particle.meph
