DESCRIPTION:Speakers: MARIMUTHU NATARAJAN (JINR)\nThis study presents an a
nalysis of Nuclear Track Emulsion (NTE) exposed\nto an extracted $^{124}$X
e$^{54+}$ beam at around 300 MeV per nucleon at the JINR\nNuclotron\, cond
ucted within the framework of the BECQUEREL project[1].\nThe primary aim w
as to characterize the beam profile and its uniformity\, and\nto determine
the Bragg peak position\, in support of applied research in electronic co
mponents and radiation biology. Three stacks\, each consisting of 8-10 nuc
lear emulsion layers with a thickness of 60 µm deposited on a 2 mm thick\
nglass substrate were exposed transversely to the beam. This configuration
enabled the recording of the ion trajectories and their energy deposition
along\nthe penetration depth\, including the stopping region and the prod
uction of long\nrange fragments. The area of each emulsion layer was digit
ally imaged using an\nOlympus BX63 intelligent microscope[2]. Owing to the
  high ionization density\nof the incident $^{124}$Xe$^{54+}$ ions\, a 4X o
bjective was sufficient for reliable track detection. A Gaussian Mixture M
odel (GMM) applied to the measured grain area\ndistributions enabled the c
lassification of tracks into three principal groups corresponding to light
  fragments\, intermediate mass fragments\, and heavy residues\,\nincluding
  the primary beam ions.\n\n\nReferences\n\n[1] P. I. Zarubin\, Lect. Notes
