Description
Recent data of reactor neutrino experiments give a hint for anomalously low antineutrino flux at short distances.
A possible explanation of this anomaly is the presence of sterile neutrinos.
SOX project is based on the idea of placing a neutrino source close to a large volume detector in order to look for the flux suppression and the oscillation pattern inside the detector volume. In this project a ~100 kCi 144Ce-144Pr source is intended to be placed under the Borexino detector.
