Description
This work examines the impact of primordial black hole clustering on the dynamics of their mergers. Gravitational perturbations from neighboring black holes within a cluster perturb the orbital parameters of binary systems, effectively excluding them from the population of merging binaries. This, in turn, characteristically alters the merger history compared to the non-clustered case, which manifests both in the redshift evolution of the merger rate and in the spectrum of the stochastic gravitational-wave background. We discuss how these effects can be tested by future gravitational-wave observations.
