Description
Searches for submicrosecond and nanosecond optical transients are motivated by studies of rapid astrophysical processes and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI). Imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes can be used to search for such transients during regular observations. Coincident signals from multiple telescopes, combined with image analysis, help identify candidate events and suppress the extensive air shower background. In this work, the event selection criteria are described, and preliminary results from an analysis of TAIGA-IACT data from 2022–2025 are reported. Prospects for further development of the search method are also discussed.
