Description
Heavy strongly interacting dark matter particles are excluded by data from several experiments (IMP-7/8, XQC, RRS, CRESST, CDMS, and others) within scenarios which assume a velocity-independent nuclear elastic scattering cross section. However, taking into account the location of the detectors avoids some of the constraints if energy loss leads to an increase in such cross section. Scenarios of the thermalization of 2-10 TeV particles were analyzed for several functions $\sigma = \sigma (v)$. The velocity and angular distributions for several penetration depths into the atmosphere and the upper layers of rock were calculated. The results are compared with existing constraints on SIMPs.
