Description
Neutrino telescopes have become a mature tool for exploring the high-energy Universe. This talk will give a concise overview of the basic principles of neutrino detection at large-volume Cherenkov detectors, their main scientific goals, and the current experimental landscape. Selected recent results from operating neutrino telescopes will be discussed, together with the status of ongoing experiments and plans for the next generation of detectors. Particular attention will be given to the role of neutrino telescopes in identifying cosmic accelerators and in multimessenger studies of the Universe.
