Description
The report describes a proportional counter developed for the search for cold dark matter, presumably consisting of hidden photons, in the PHELEX experiment (PHoton-ELectron EXperiment). The two-cathode counter is aimed at searching for diurnal variations in the count rate of single electrons emitted from the surface of the metal cathode of the proportional counter, presumably as a result of the photoelectric effect caused by the conversion of dark photons on the surface of the metal cathode. Measurement results and directions for possible further development of the experiment based on the developed counter are presented.
