Description

To measure cumulative beta-particle spectra of uranium and plutonium fission products, the BETA experimental facility is located at the output of the 11th neutron beam of the research reactor at the National Research Center Kurchatov Institute. The experiment simultaneously measures beta-particle spectra from uranium and plutonium targets, as well as the background spectrum, in the same neutron flux. As part of the upgrade of the BETA facility, a scintillation beta spectrometer has been developed and the first measurements with radioactive sources are presented.
